Mary Luna Brittain

BRITTAIN, Mary Luna - Age 90, of Lennon, died Friday, June 25, 2004 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held 11 AM Monday, June 28, 2004 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Pastor David Fulks and Pastor Paul Amstutz officiating. Interment in Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-9 PM Sunday. Those desiring may make contributions to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or the Christian Companions in care of Sharp Funeral Homes. Mary was born October 8, 1913 in Mocksville, NC, the daughter of William H. and Rose (Sterling) Smith. She had resided in Lennon for over 50 years. She married Elvin Debrell Brittain in 1937. She had attended the Durand Church of the Nazarene. She volunteered and served as the treasurer for the Lennon Schools P.T.A. for several years. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Brittain is survived by: her husband Elvin; 4 children, Rosemary E. and husband Merle Woodworth of Durand, Frank H. Brittain of Swartz Creek, Ruby A. and husband Michael Jewell of Gaines, Glenn D. and wife Cathy Brittain of Lennon; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, William Smith; and sister, Winnie McKinney.
