Mary L. BETTESWORTH

BETTESWORTH, Mary L., age 88, of Flint, formerly of Venice FL, passed away Monday, May 10, 2010 at Avalon Hospice. Memorial Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Grand Blanc Twp. In Lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Avalon Hospice. Mary was born January 9, 1922 in Carterville IL, the daughter of the late Joe and Anne Bell (Crouch) Smith. She married George McLeod in 1941 and he preceded her in death in 1962, and she later married Gerald Bettesworth in 1964 and he preceded her in death in 1994. Mary was an avid golfer. She worked for Mott Food Service, and retired from the Flint School System with 15 years of service. Surviving are daughter, Connie (Marvin) Clapp of Flint; son, Donald (Terry) McLeod of Lennon; Grandchildren Paula (Robert) Whalen of Grand Blanc, and Kyle (Heather) McLeod of Grand Rapids; Great Grandchildren, Kacey and Cameron Whalen of Grand Blanc; sister, Barbara Nolte of IL.
