Mary Bergum

BERGUM, Mary Elizabeth - age 82, of Linden, died June 3, 2020. A memorial mass will be celebrated 10:30 AM Friday, July 17, 2020 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 711 Rickett Rd, Brighton, MI 48116 with Fr. Joe Campbell celebrant. Interment of cremated remains will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Brighton. The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the American Heart Association. Mary was born June 13, 1937 in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of Edward and Mary (Engle) Buchwald. She married Paul S. Bergum on August 27, 1955 and he preceded her in death on May 19, 2014. During their 59 years of marriage, Paul and Mary raised their family in St. Joseph and Brighton, MI and have resided in Linden since 2004. Surviving are: five children, James Bergum of Watsonville, CA, Mary Johnson of Bonita Springs, FL, Joseph (Suzanne) Bergum of Pinckney, Carol Appleton of Spring Hill, FL, and Patricia (Marty) Otman of Linden; 20 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; brother, Edward Buchwald of Shelbyville, TN; sister, Julie Buchwald of East Aurora, NY.
