DURISH ARMITAGE, Mary A. - Age 95, of Swartz Creek, died Thursday, October 27, 2011. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Monday, October 31, 2011 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 4413 Morrish Rd., Swartz Creek. Fr. Dan Kogut celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Sunday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, with a rosary at 7 PM. Visitation will also be on Monday from 10 AM until the time of Mass at church. Those desiring may make contributions to St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church or Swartz Creek Senior Center. Mary was born June 25, 1916 in Lennon, the daughter of Frank and Eva J. (Ponuchalek) Hromek. She had been a member of St. Mary her entire life. Mary was an accomplished cook and baker. She owned and operated restaurants and a catering business for over 35 years. She also enjoyed crafts and playing cards. Surviving are: children, Marie (Jim) Stuart of Saginaw, David A. Durish of Zionsville, IN, Charlotte (Terry) Brady of Rapid City, Paula (Jim) Sharp of Plano, TX; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and close friends.
