ANIBAL, Mary Ann - age 87, Of Flint, passed away, Sunday, December 31, 2023. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 AM Friday, January 5, 2024 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3139 Hogarth Ave., Flint. Rev. Fr. Anthony Strouse celebrant. Entombment in the Mausoleum at Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center 6063 Fenton Road, Flint Thursday from 4-8 PM and at church from 9:00 AM until the time of Mass. A rosary will be prayed at the funeral home Thursday at 7:00 PM. Those desiring may make contributions to Catholic Charities.
Mary was born July 27, 1936 in Flint, the daughter of Steven and Elizabeth M. (Szabo) Kocsis. She married George A. Anibal in Flint on October 13, 1955. Mary graduated from Flint Tech High School. She was a homemaker. Mary was a member of St. Joseph Parish and later St. Pius X Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending time and caring for her grandchildren, who were the love of her life.
Mary is survived by her son, James S. Anibal, of Flint; granddaughter, Theresa (Bear) Holmes of Arizona; grandson, Jonathon (April) Brophy of Arizona; great granddaughter, Taylor Ellis; great grandson, Tyson, Ellis; sister, Barbara Cruise of Battle Creek; and several nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by, her husband, George; daughter, Carol E. Brophy; sisters, Margaret, Elizabeth, Frances, and Katherine and her brother, Steve. Online tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
