Mary Aitken

AITKEN, Mary Elizabeth, age 72, of Swartz Creek formerly of Burton, died Saturday, March 10, 2007 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral Services will be held 11AM Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Rd. Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Interment at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4-8PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Mary was born October 26, 1934 in Flint, the daughter of David and Mary "Mae" (Jarvie) Aitken. She was a student at Genesee County Association for Retarded Citizens, participated in Cornerstone Day Program and lived at Vassar House of Continuing Care for 25 years. Mary was a very social lady, who never forgot a face, and delighted those who met her. She will be remembered for her wonderful smile and how she loved the color blue. Surviving are her sister Kay Seitz (Walter); 3 nieces, Renee Holzer (Mike), Colleen Smith, Michele Bishop (Frank); 2 nephews, David Seitz, Joseph Seitz (Theresa); 6 grand-nieces; 4 grand-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, infant David Aitken and Robert Aitken. The family extends heartfelt thanks to Nila, Laurie, Jenny and Sue for 25 years of combined care for Mary.
