ADKINS, Mary Elizabeth -- Age 98, of Swartz Creek, died May 14, 2014 at Durand Senior Care Center, Durand. Services will be 1 PM Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Heart Association. Mary was born February 28, 1916 in Sasketchewan, Canada, the daughter of John T. and Florence (Kerr) Clark. She married Harley Henry Adkins on August 27, 1935 in Breton, Alberta, Canada; he preceded her in death in 1978. Surviving are: two sons, Donald H. Adkins of Swartz Creek, Raymond C. (Sue) of Swartz Creek; 5 grandchildren, Raymond (Deborah) Adkins of Lynn Haven FL, Edmund (Darlene)Adkins of Ravenna, Dale (Michele) Adkins of Swartz Creek, Lorena (Curt Druley) of Bancroft, Steven (Tracie) Adkins of Durand; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Birniece Whitlock, Inez Richardson; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; 5 brothers; 3 sisters; daughter in law, Jean; grandson, Paul; and great-grand son, Nicholas.
