Marvin "Mac" Mcvicker

McVICKER, Marvin Carlisle "Mac" -  Age 79, of Flint, died Saturday, December 11, 2021.  Services will be held 3 PM Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center 6063 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc.  Mr. Leo Haring officiating.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tuesday from 12 PM until the time of the service.  Those desiring may make contributions to the Genesee County Humane Society or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Marvin was born March 30, 1942 in Flint, the son of Marvin C. and Nina M. (McCoy) McVicker. He was a 1961 graduate of Flint Central High School.  He married Carol Ann Haring September 15, 1962 at Central Methodist Church in Flint and she preceded him in death July 25, 2019.  He had resided in Flint his entire life.  Marvin retired from GM Chevrolet Truck and Bus after 45.1 years of service.  He was a member of U.A.W. Local 598.  He was an avid bowler, Nascar fan, and a U of M football fan.  He also enjoyed photography, astronomy, and history. Surviving are: his daughter, Jan (Robert) Carmona of Flint; grandchildren, Amanda (Scottie Hart) McVicker of Mt. Morris, Jessica (Robert) Garrow of Flint, Danielle (Christopher Justice) Backmeier of Davison, and Jerry Martines of Millington; great grandchildren, Matthew, Isaiah, Kimberlee, Jozlynn, and Aurora Sky; son-in-law, Kenneth Martines; and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kim A. Martines; and sisters, Bettye Corless and Peggy Rushin.
