Martin "Marty" Kinsey

KINSEY, Martin "Marty" Edward  - Age 68, of Flint Twp. formerly of Davison and Swartz Creek, died Thursday September 11, 2019. A celebration of life will be held, 1PM Saturday, September 21, at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Flint, 2474 S. Ballenger Hwy, Flint. Co-ministers, Lynn and Jerry Kerr officiating. Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. In lieu of flowers,those desiring may make contributions to the American Diabetes Association or the American Parkinson's  Association.  Marty was born July 8, 1951 in Flint, the son of Robert Glen and Thelma (Rockwell) Kinsey. He married Susan Owen in Flint on October 9, 1993. Marty graduated from Davison High School and proudly served his country in the  U.S. Navy as a corpsman from 1970- 1974. He retired from General Motors with 30 years of service, working from 1969 to 1999. He collected model cars and other vehicles and was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Flint and a member of UAW Local 598.  Surviving are: wife, Susan Kinsey of Flint Twp., and sister, Sherry Koskie of Flint Twp.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and stepson Jonathon Owen.
