Martin R. Goerke

GOERKE, Martin R. -- Age 59, of Lake Fenton, died Monday, September 29, 2003 at Genesys Health Park, the result of a heart attack. Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, October 2, 2003 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton, Pastor Carol Hoeve officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday 7-9 p.m.;  Wednesday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 - 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Goerke was born September 7, 1944 in Redford Township the son of Richard and Shirley (Martin) Goerke, and had lived on Lake Fenton since 1997. He was married to Denise Massar at Lake Fenton on July 4, 2001. He was a graduate of Thurston High School in 1962, and Ferris State University. Mr. Goerke was a Manufacturers Rep. for IHFA for the last 25 years. He was a member of the National Hot Rod Association, a Good Guy Member, and member of the Fenton Moose Lodge. Mr. Goerke is survived by his wife, Denise; children, Kimberly Goerke of Gaylord, Kevin and wife Vickie Goerke of Flint, Charlene Goerke of Albion, Joseph Goerke of Lake Fenton, Darcy Fenner of Lake Fenton; grandchildren, Kevin, Cassandra, Justin; mother, Shirley Goerke; sister, Barbara and husband Dan Scheck of Grand Haven; brother, Carl and wife Cindy Goerke of Hadley; father-in-law, James Massar of Grand Blanc; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Debbie and John Goyette of Otisville, Dianne and Tom Kudza of Goodrich, Darlene and Bob Gaydos of CO; several nieces and nephews.
