Martha Peltan

Peltan, Martha (Bowman) Campbell - Age 98, of Waterford, passed away July 13, 2022. Services will be announced at a later date. Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Home, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road. Martha was born to Frank Howard Bowman and Martha (Nee Hutson) Bowman on the Sarah Hutson-Bowman farm. She was descendant of the first families of Tennessee. The multi-generation farm was on the Powell River in the shadows of the Cumberland Mountains. It is now under the Norris Lake in East Tennessee. At the end of WW11, Martha married a war veteran, George Campbell. They lived briefly in their hometown of LaFollette, TN, before moving to Michigan. George worked in the auto industry, Martha gave birth to four children, Bruce, Carol, Chris, and George (deceased). Martha often worked outside the home. She was most proud of obtaining her real estate broker's license. She felt most fulfilled when she worked for Reverend Jack Van Impe. Upon retiring in 1976, Martha and George moved to Florida. She was active in her church and enjoyed when children and grandchildren visited, especially during the Christmas holidays. In 1989, her husband passed away. She then married a family friend, Harold Peltan in 1994. Harold then passed away in 2007. Martha goes to our Heavenly father leaving three children, nine grandchildren, and seventeen great-grandchildren. She had five siblings who preceded her in death, Fleeta, Everett, Gleason, Millard and Howard. Tributes may be shared on the obituaries page of www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
