CRANE, Martha F. -- Age 79, of Flint, died Thursday, August 2, 2007 at Avalon Hospice. Funeral Services will be held 10 AM Monday, August 6 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Interment in Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be 1-4 PM Sunday. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the Genesee County Humane Society. Martha was born July 6, 1928 in Flint the daughter of Glynn E. and Vera Elizabeth (Gore) Tarver. She had resided in Flint all of her life. She was married to Kenneth J. Crane on August 3, 1946 in Flint. Mrs. Crane had worked as the Secretary at Mott College Library and the Bookstall, Downtown Flint in the Hyatt Regency. She had served on the Census Bureau and as a Sunday School Teacher, Girl Scout Leader, and ordained Elder at the Community Presbyterian Church. Most importantly she was a full time homemaker and her primary focus was family and being a mother. Surviving are: husband Kenneth; four children, Cheryl and husband Howard Allen of Portland, OR, Cathy and husband Matt Myers of Rockwall, TX, Kenneth E. and wife Robin Crane of Cross Village, MI, David J. Crane of Swartz Creek; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
