Marta Turvey

Turvey, Marta M. (Soto) - Age 67, of Flint Township, died May 26, 2021. Services will be held 12:30 PM Tuesday, June 8 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center 6063 Fenton Rd. Grand Blanc. Committal will be  2:30 PM Tuesday, June 8 at Great Lakes National Cemetery 4200 N. Belford Rd. Holly. Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Monday, and 10:30 AM Tuesday until the time of service at the funeral home. Marta was born December 1, 1953 in Omer, MI, the daughter of Jose and Refugia (Moreno) Soto Jr. She married Monte Turvey on November 22, 1978; he preceded her in death on June 5, 2017. Marta's greatest accomplishment was becoming a Christian and everyday her life was connected to that. She worked in private homecare and helped many people over the years with her nurturing care. Marta enjoyed caring for Olivia "Lilly" and Lydia "Pinki". She loved antiques and garage sales. Marta was a very giving person, always the first to offer help. She is survived by her three children, Daniel Verdict of Flint, Tonya Verdict of Burton, Ryan (Faith) Turvey of Linden; grandchildren, Mason, Tyler, Aiden, Keegan, Camran, Olivia "Lilly", Lydia "Pinki"; siblings, Visenta Ascencio, Olga Soto, Elodia Vasquez, Eligio (Colleen) Soto, Alejandro (Renate) Soto, Maria Chapman, Laura TerBush, Augustina (Joe) Romo, Delia Soto; many nieces and nephews. Marta was preceded in death by her parents Jose and Refugia Soto, Jr.; husband, Monte Turvey; and brother, Jose "Chauch" Soto.
