March 4, 1939 — December 5, 2006

MONTPAS, Marlene (Thibeaut)(Schlegel) (Scearce) - age 67, of Flint, died Tuesday, December 5, 2006 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Friday, December 8, 2006 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd. (just south of Hill Rd.), Flint with Rev. Kenneth R. Gillard officiating. Interment will follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be forwarded to the family for distribution to a charity of their choice. Marlene was born March 4, 1939 in Flint, the daughter of Lester and Martha (Perowitz) Swain. She attended Sacred Heart School in Flint and retired from AC Spark Plug. Marlene was a devoted mother and grandmother dedicating her life to her family. Surviving are: three children, Gerald James Thibeaut of Burton, Michele (Schlegel) and husband, John DeBlaay of Comstock Park, Cindy (Schlegel) and husband, Michael Barrett of Flint; four grandchildren, Angela, Victor and Tyler Thibeault, Michael Barrett, Jr.; three great-grandchildren, Jacqueline, Christianna and Noah Sinnott; sister, Phyllis DeNaples of Napa, CA; four brothers, Norman Swain and wife, Mary Ellen of West Branch, George Blackney and wife, Marilyn of MN, Charles Blackney and wife, Debbie of Houghton Lake, John Blackney of Houghton Lake; former husbands, James Thibeault, Bill Schlegel, Dave Montpas; two former daughters-in-law, Kathy Bishop and Barbara Doyka; several aunts, nieces, and nephews.
