MITCHELL, Marlene Janet, age 79, of Whitehall, formerly of Rankin, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at Mercy Hospital, Muskegon. Funeral Services will be 1:00PM Monday, October 1, 2012 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint. Pastor Dan Louman officiating. Interment will follow at Crestwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday 11AM-8PM and Monday 11AM until time of service at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the family. Marlene was born March 23, 1933 in Rankin the daughter of the late Clare and Gladys (Cupit) Childs. She was married to Charles W. Mitchell who preceded her in death in 1984. Surviving are her loving companion, James Frank; 8 children, Larry Frank (Valerie), Melody-Mary Hatch (Keith), Danny Mitchell (Beverly), Elizabeth Dionne (Jeff), Lori Butterfield (Randy), Bambi Frost(Jeff), Kimberly-Jean Birdsey (Bill), Amy Cook (Jeff); 19 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Zwierzynski; extended family, Jimmy Frank, Karen Proctor, Rick Frank, Russ Frank. She was also preceded in death by her infant daughter, Connie Lynn; grandson, Steve Onore. The family extends many thanks to Mercy Hospital, Muskegon and the wonderful Paramedics team.
