Mark William Sands

SANDS, Mark William - Age 52, of Flushing, died Monday, June 25, 2007 at his residence.  A Memorial Service will be held 12:00 Noon Saturday, June 30, 2007 at Flushing United Methodist Church, 413 E. Main St., Flushing.  Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 AM until time of service Saturday.  Those desiring may make contributions to Visiting Nurse Services and Hospice of Michigan, 1515 Cal Dr., Davison,MI  48423.  Mark was born December 16, 1954 in Uniontown, PA, the son of David Lee and Dona Rae (McKnight) Sands.  He had resided in Flushing since 1985, coming from Flint.  He was a 1972 graduate of Swartz Creek High School, he received a Bachelor Degree from Western Michigan University and his Master Degree from Eastern Michigan University.  He had been employed by Montrose Community Schools for 28 years, where he was Vice Principal of the Middle School; He had also taught Industrial Education and was the Athletic Director.  He was a member of the Flushing Moose Lodge #1437.  Surviving are:  2 sons, Jacob Sands of Flushing and Zachary Sands of Kentucky; the mother of his children, Denise Charles of Flushing; mother, Dona Rae Sands of Swartz Creek; 2 brothers, Brent and wife Ronel Sands  and David and wife Kathy Sands both of Swartz Creek; many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father, David Lee Sands.  Friends may share an online condolenceor post a tribute at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
