Marjory Ann Bowman

Marjory Ann (VanHouten) Bowman, age 91, of Swartz Creek, formerly of Port Richey, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at McLaren Flint. A funeral service will take place at 11:30 AM, Monday, October 9, 2023, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek with burial following at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 10:00 AM until the time of service Monday. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the Moffett Cancer Center, Tampa Florida. 

Marjory was born on November 24, 1931, in Flint the daughter of the late Arlon and Grace (Michelsen) VanHouten. She graduated from Flint Tech with the class of 1949. Marjory was united in marriage to Arles Bowman on May 6, 1950, in Flint. Sadly, after 62 years of marriage he preceded her in death on January 7, 2013. She retired with Arles at an early age of 49 and moved to Port Richey, Florida where they lived for 33 years, before Marjory moved back to Michigan to reside here in Swartz Creek. She enjoyed her church life throughout the years and lastly enjoyed attending Swartz Creek United Methodist Church. Marjory loved spending her time with her family and playing BINGO.  

She is survived by her three daughters, Nancy (Victor) Taylor, Debra (Michael) Falcon and Patty (Bill) Sheffer; three grandchildren, Andrea Falcon, Amber (Don) Marshall and Becky Taylor; two great-grandchildren, Donny Marshall and Lauren Marshall; and many nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents and husband, Marjory was preceded in death by her siblings, Esther, Arlene, Ward and Mary.
