WENTWORTH, Marjorie Blaisdell - age 98, of Flint, died Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at the Oaks of Woodfield. The family will receive friends from 2-4 PM Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd. Fenton. Memorial service will be held 12 PM Thursday, January 19, 2017 at First Presbyterian Church of Flint, 746 S. Saginaw St., Flint with Pastor Paul Ytterock officiating. Mrs. Wentworth was born January 19, 1918 in Albion, MI, the daughter of Lester Franklin and Helen Elizabeth (Foulhober) Blaisdell. She graduated from Albion College in 1939 with a teaching degree and taught 3rd and 4th grades in Grand Blanc. She married John E. Wentworth, M.D., on September 13, 1940 and he preceded her in death on August 2, 1987. She was a member of several organizations including Aloha Chi Omega Sorority, First Presbyterian Church, serving on the Pierce Memorial Library Board and Bishop Class Sunday School; Board member of Flint Public Library Friends of many years; Board member of St. Cecilia Society; member of Flint Institute of Arts, serving on the Founders Board; member of Sloan Museum; member of McLaren Regional Medical Center Auxiliary; Second Monday Book Club; Current Book Club; West Flint Branch Library Book Club; Women's Farm and Garden Association, Inc. Flint Branch; Flint Golf Club; Chapter PD - P.E.O. Sisterhood; Century Club - Y.W.C.A., and volunteer of the United Way of Genesee and Lapeer Counties. Marjorie loved reading, gardening, bridge, travel, golf, and most of all making new friends. Surviving are: two sons, William (Julie) Wentworth of Bay Harbor; John Wentworth, Jr. of Fenton; grandchildren, John Wentworth III (Jennifer) & Family, William Wentworth Jr. (Danielle) & Family, Kelly Roberts (David) & Family, Martha Sanford(Tim) & Family and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her husband; son, Dr. David Wentworth; and daughter-in-law, Nancy Jo (Strahle) Wentworth. The family extends a special thank you to Betty Nippa, Sheri Szabo, Carla Aurand, Jackie Blackburn, and Charlene and Mike Farella for their unconditional love and care until the end.
