Marjorie E. Shepherd, age 101, of Flint Township, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2022. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at First Presbyterian Church of Flint, 746 Saginaw Street, Flint MI 48502 with Rev. Paul Ytterock officiating. Visitation will be held the same day starting at 1:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church of Flint. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Marjorie’s name to: First Presbyterian Church of Flint, 746 Saginaw Street, Flint MI 48502.
Marjorie was born on May 1, 1921 in Flint to the late Nelson (Florence) Main. She graduated from Flint Northern High School in 1939. She then continued her education at Baker Business College earning her degree in clerical work. She married the love of her life, Alan on April 12, 1947. He preceded her in death in 1998. Marjorie was employed at the Genessee County Clerks Office for 35 years before retiring in 1983. In addition to being a life-long member to Frist Presbyterian Church of Flint, Marjorie was also a dedicated lifetime member of the Order of Eastern Star/Grand Chapter of Michigan/ Flint Chapter 138 & Royal Neighbors.
Survivors include: her son, William (Cynthia) Shepherd, granddaughters, Stephanie (Lony) Smith, Marie (Bill Enright) Shepherd-Carter, Kaitlyn (Bastien Le Guen) Shepherd; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Austin, Zachary, Joshua, Elizabeth, Daniel, Hannah, and Mira and great great-grandchildren, Blaine and Sawyer. In addition to her parents and husband, Alan, Marjorie was preceded in death by, her daughter, Suzanne Lamb, brothers, Waldo and Stanley Main and her sister, Gladys Atwell-Davis.
