NEWMAN, Marjorie Elouise, age 94, of Swartz Creek, passed away Saturday October 3, 2009 at Durand Senior Care Center. Funeral Services will be 12PM Thursday, October 8, 2009 at Swartz Creek United Methodist Church, 7400 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, Pastor J.D. Landis officiating. Visitation will be 1-4 and 6-8PM Wednesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek and 11AM Thursday until time of service at the church. In Lieu of Flowers, contributions may be made to the Swartz Creek United Methodist Church Memorial Fund. Marjorie was born October 28, 1914 in Swartz Creek the daughter of the late Ernest and Lillie (Ryno) Parker. She married Paul Newman in Swartz Creek in 1958 and he preceded her in death. Marjorie was employed by AC Spark Plug as an Inspector until her retirement. She was an active member of Swartz Creek United Methodist Church serving on various committees and in several capacities throughout the years, most recently she sang in the choir, accounted the weekly offering and was a member of the pastie crew. Marjorie was also a member of the Swartz Creek Women's Club. She was a loving and dedicated Mother, Grandmother and a loyal friend to many. Surviving are her 2 daughters, Elouise Kilmer and Barbara Mulnix (Paul) both of Swartz Creek; 4 grandsons, Steven Kilmer of Swartz Creek, David Mulnix (Tracey) of AZ, Jeffrey Mulnix (Suzette) of Linden, Christopher Mulnix (Jessica) of Swartz Creek; 4 great-grandchildren, Julie and Halie Mulnix of both of Swartz Creek, Marissa and Mason Mulnix both of Linden. She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Arnold and Laverne Parker; and step-grandson Rick Kilmer. The family extends special thanks to Durand Senior Care Center and especially, Sandy, Rayleen and Alice, for their unconditional love and care.
