Marjorie Huff

HUFF, Marjorie Lucille Ackerman Age 100, of Slidell, Louisiana passed away on October 3, 2019. She was a native of Flint, Michigan, born on December 29, 1918 to Gertrude E. Ackerman and Robert F. Ackerman. Marjorie is the loving wife of the late Harry E. Huff and caring mother of Nancy L. Gaffney (Joseph), Janice S. Morgan (Robert), and the late Mary Ellen Fraser.  She is the cherished grandmother of Lynn M. Mattis, Russell K. Ridley, Jeffrey S. Cameron, Lisa M. Burke, and Brandi L. Smith.  Marjorie is the sister of L.B. Frank Ackerman, Leone Summit, Russell Ackerman, Kathryn Dodder, and Robert Ackerman. She was a graduate of Flint Northern High School and worked as a secretary for both the Genesee School District and the General Motors Corporation. Marjorie lovingly and generously gave her time to help others by volunteering at McLaren General Hospital in her hometown of Flint, Michigan and also at Slidell Memorial Hospital in Slidell, Louisiana. She was an active member of Swartz Creek United Methodist Church and enjoyed many activities such as ice skating, dancing, skiing, and crafts. Above all, Marjorie loved her family and friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Graveside Service in Marjorie’s honor on Friday, October 11, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Flushing City Cemetery in Flushing, Michigan.
