Marjorie J. CONOVER

CONOVER, Marjorie J - Age 94, of Fenton passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at her residence with Hospice Advantage. Visitations will be held 6:00 to 9:00 pm on Friday and 12:00 3:00 pm on Saturday. Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Autism Society, Michigan school of Professional Psychology and Hospice Advantage. Marjorie, daughter to Ralph Jenkins and Rachel Osborne Jenkins, was born August 31, 1917 in Pittsfield, New Hampshire. She grew up in New Brunswick, New Jersey and graduated from New Jersey College for Women in 1939 with a Bachelors Degree. In 1941 she married George W. Conover, Jr. of Highland Park N.J. and moved to Michigan in 1948. They were instrumental in developing educational services in public schools for special education during the 1950's. Throughout her life Marjorie made many friends through her active participation in voluntary organizations in Plymouth, Farmington and Fenton: the Methodist Church, the AAUW, Entre Nous, Plymouth Symphony, book clubs and others. She also enjoyed participating actively in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed. Survived by daughter, Nancy Armbruster, of Fenton; son Donald of Cali, Colombia; and son Robert of Holly; sister Pat Penn, sister-in-law Lavinia Jenkins, grandchildren: Peter Armbruster, Gloria Conover, Emily Conover, Anna Conover, Christopher Armbruster and Jennifer (Armbruster) Flack; and great grandchildren Alexandra, Megan, Nicolas, Valeria, Madyson, Andrew, and Leighton. She was preceded in death by son William G. Conover in 1976 and husband George W. Conover Jr. in 1985, parents Ralph and Rachel, siblings Eleanor and Donald, brother-in-law Robert Conover, sister and brother-in-law Eddie and Ruth Houghton.
