AKERMAN, Mariya Stepanovna - age 85, of Flint, died Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at her residence. Services will be held 12:30 PM Sunday, October 25, 2009 at Machpelah Cemetery with Rabbi Yisroel Weingarten officiating. Mariya was born in Russia on August 12, 1924 the daughter of Stepan and Ann Poznyakov. She married Boris Akerman in May of 1944 and he preceded her in death on August 31, 2008. Surviving are: 4 children, Raisa Kalika, Adelya Akerman, Vladimir Akerman and Svetlana Grinman; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.
