HATFIELD, Marion Robert- Age 82, of Swartz Creek, died Saturday, July 5, 2008 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Swartz Creek. Fr. Steven Mattson celebrant. Burial immediately following at St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery, Deerfield Township. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek from 1-8 PM Tuesday and at church from 10 AM until time of Mass Wednesday. A American Legion memorial service will be held 6 PM Tuesday at the funeral home and a vigil service will be held 7 PM Tuesday followed by a Knights of Columbus Rosary. Those desiring may make contributions to St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church. Mr. Hatfield was born January 7, 1926 in Ashland, KY, the son of Lucian Marion and Margaret (Britz) Hatfield. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army. He was a graduate of Michigan State University. He married Patricia Ann Manzardo February 7, 1970 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Flint. Mr. Hatfield has resided in Swartz Creek for the past 38 years coming from Deerfield Township. He retired from GM Chevrolet Plant 6 after 39 years of service. He was a member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Knight of Columbus council #6694 Swartz Creek, American Legion Post #294, U.A.W. Local 594. Surviving are: wife, Patricia Ann; 2 sons, Tobias Hatfield of Swartz Creek, Jason Robert and wife Shannon Hatfield of Flint; 4 grandchildren, Cody, Cameron, Arianna and Nadia; sister, Jeanette Hatfield of Arizona.
