DIECK, Marian I. - Of Swartz Creek, age 88, died August 9, 2009 at Durand Senior Care and Rehab Center. Funeral services will be held 11AM Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, Pastor R. DeWeerd Smith and Dr. Sanford Good officiating. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery, Vernon. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lennon Wesleyan Church. Marian was born December 23, 1920 in Swartz Creek, the daughter of Ulysses and Clara (Brown) Dieck and had been a resident of Swartz Creek all of her life. Ms. Dieck earned her Bachelor's degree from Asbury College and her teaching certificate from Michigan State University. She was employed by Beecher Schools as a teacher, retiring in 1981 after 37 years of service. Ms. Dieck was a member of Lennon Wesleyan Church and the Retired Teachers of Genesee County. Surviving are: sister, Charlene (Donald) Bentley of Swartz Creek; brother, Donald Dieck of Cincinnati, OH; 7 nieces and nephews; 11 great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
