Marilyn Meetze

MEETZE, Marilyn J. "Lyn" - Age 85, of Flint/Burton, died Saturday September 17, 2016. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Monday, September 19, 2016 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St, Linden. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sunday from 5-8 PM and Monday from 12:00 PM until the time of the service. Those desiring may make contributions to Heart to Heart Hospice or Alzheimer's Association. Lyn was born May 24, 1931 in Flint, the daughter of Ernest and Nora (Lumley) Gilbert. She was a 1949 graduate of Flushing High School. She married Efird "Jay" Meetze April 14, 1958 in Mt. Morris. She was a long time member of Richfield Road Baptist Church, where she was the Sunday School Superintendent, Music Director, and the church pianist. She also was a member of the Forest Fanciers Camping Club, Rainbow Girls, Eastern Star, and was the past president of the Kearsley High School Band Boosters. Lyn and Jay enjoyed traveling and camping. Surviving are: her husband, Jay; son, Jerry (Rhonda) Meetze of Jacksonville, FL; daughter, Bonny (Jeff) Thomas of Linden; grandchildren, Darrin (Brandy) Meetze, Jay Meetze, Heather ((Mike) Ernest, Rebecca (James) Demidovich, Lauren (Ryan) Hanna, and Ryan Thomas; 7 great grandchildren; sisters, Virginia Bubin and Charlene Hull both of Flushing; and several nieces and nephews.
