Marilyn Ruth Hoover

HOOVER, Marilyn Ruth - Age 74, of Fenton, went to be with the Lord Monday, May 24, 2004 at her residence. Funeral Services will be held 11 AM Thursday, May 27, 2004 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton, Rev. Berniece Matejcek officiating. Interment in Oakwood Cemetery, Fenton. Visitation will be held 7-9 PM Tuesday, 2-5 and 7-9 PM Wednesday. Marilyn was born May 2, 1930 in Howell the daughter of Rufus S. and Eula V. (Schaack) Benoit. She was a 1948 graduate of Northern High School and married Charles Hoover in Flint on November 19, 1949. She had attended Flint Junior College (Mott Community College.) She was employed by the City of Flint for over 20 years retiring in 1992. She taught public and parochial schools. She was dedicated to community service. Mrs. Hoover received many awards and honors from various organizations for her commitment to her work with senior citizens over the past 20 years. She had previously served on the board of directors for the Fenton Area Resource and Referral. Surviving are: husband Charles; 4 sons, Randy and wife Janice of Grand Blanc, Greg and wife Linda of Fenton, Charles Jr. and wife Mary of Grand Blanc, Dennis and wife Helena of Florida; 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren.
