WESTERVELT, Marie Ann  Age 93, of Swartz Creek, died Thursday, November 10, 2005 at Encore Senior Villa in Beloit, WI. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Tuesday, November 15, 2005 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 2415 Bagley St., Flint with Fr. Douglas Osborn celebrant. Interment will follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Mrs. Westervelt will lie in state from 5-8 PM Sunday and Monday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek and from 10 AM until the time of Mass Tuesday at the church. A scripture service will be held at 7 PM Monday evening. Mrs. Westervelt was born March 8, 1912 in Chicago, IL and moved to Flint with her parents Theodore and Mary Schlee in 1917 where he father worked for Buick Motor Company until his retirement. Mrs. Westervelt graduated from St. Michael Catholic High School in 1930 and married Robert L. Westervelt. Mrs. Westervelt was an avid sportswoman, skiing, skating, golfing and together with her husband appeared in many ice shows and choreographed dance routines. She and her husband traveled widely in Europe, South America and the Far East. Mrs. Westervelt was a member of the Flint Antique Club, the Gray Ladies, Red Cross and other charitable organizations. Surviving are: three sons, Robert J. of Lake Tahoe, NV, William and wife, Peggy of Birmingham, avid and wife, Debbie of Pecatonica, IL;  also surviving are three grandchildren, William Westervelt, Jr. of Detroit, Christine and husband, Rob Stafford of Lake Fenton, Laura Westervelt of Rockford, IL; six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her loving husband of 72 years, Robert L. Westervelt; parents Theodore and Mary Schlee; brother, John Schlee; three sister; Helen, Dorothy, and Frances; grandson, David Westervelt, Jr..
