Marie B. Rupp

Marie B. Rupp, age 85, of Flushing, passed away to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 17, 2025. Visitation will be held at 11am until the time of the Memorial Service at 1pm on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Marie will be laid to rest next to her late husband, Richard, at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. Marie was born on October 5, 1939, in Swartz Creek, Michigan to the late Charles & Louise Jones. She attended Dye High School, class of 1957. She married Richard A. Rupp in Grand Blanc, Michigan on September 3, 1966, and together they were blessed with their son, Raymond Rupp.

In her earlier years Marie along with her sister-in-law, Nancy, brought old furniture back to life by refinishing. Marie had many pieces throughout her own house as well as her friends and family often found themselves the proud owners of her finished pieces. Marie always had a soft spot in her heart for critters, for many years she loved and cared for several cats and dogs. This caring and nurturing trait spilled over to her family as she selflessly became the caregiver for many of her own family members.

Perhaps her most favorite memories would be those spent camping at Grand Lake with her family. Once retired she and her husband, Richard, moved to Presque Isle, Michigan and many of their family members followed them. Needless to say, the summer months were spent enjoying Michigan's warm weather with those she loved the most. Marie appreciated all of God's beautiful creation especially the quiet moments she watched for birds. She last attended Higher Ground Church, where she always looked forward to fellowship and frequently volunteered for various meals and occasions.

Marie is survived by her loving son, Raymond Rupp and her brother, Dayron (Norma) Jones. She is further survived by a host of family members from both the Jones and Rupp side of her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Harmon, Donald, Norman and John.

Marie's family would like to thank Tom and Barbara Rupp during each phase of Marie's life they helped settle her into her new living arrangements. We are so thankful for your love and support all these years.
