Marie Rose DRAGO

DRAGO, Marie Rose - age 88, of Flint, died Tuesday, March 22, 2011. Funeral mass will be celebrated 3 PM Friday, March 25, 2011 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 E. Bristol Rd., Burton with Fr. Steve Anderson celebrant. A dinner gathering will follow at 4:30 PM at Bristol Road Church of Christ, 1315 W. Bristol Rd., Flint. The family will receive friends from 3-9 PM Thursday at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Heart Association or the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan. Mrs. Drago was born July 23, 1922 in Sicily, the daughter of Gaetano and Giuseppina (Castrovinci) Scionti. She married Joseph Edward Drago on September 8, 1946 in Brooklyn, NY and he preceded her in death on March 17, 1974. Mrs. Drago worked for Republic Aircraft from 1942 - 1945 during World War II. She was an active member of Holy Redeemer and one of the founding members of St. Martin de Porres Guild in the early 1950s. Mrs. Drago raised six children and worked at Drago Automotive for 11 years. Surviving are: four children, Douglas (Debbie) Drago, Gary Drago, Christopher (Gina) Drago, and Mari Jo Drago and fiance, James MacDonald; daughter-in-law, Joanne Drago; five grandchildren, Joseph, Christina, Angelina, Dominic and Vincent; sister, Serina Sirna; nephews, Robert (Gail), Ronald (Jessie), Richard (Patty), Greg (Sue) and Thomas (Michelle) Sirna; special niece, Joanne Scionti-Polan; sister-in-law Gussie Scionti and many other nieces and nephews from the Scionti and Sirna families; special caregivers, Maggie, Krystyna, Debbie and Skye . She was also preceded in death by: her daughter, Donna in 2008; son, John in 1988; her brothers, Tony and wife Lena, Larry Scionti; brother-in-law Anthony Sirna, MD and nephew Michael Sirna.
