CHARLES, Marian Louise - Age 96, of Fenton, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2022. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at Shepherd of the Lakes Lutheran Church, 16214 Linden Road, Linden. Pastor David Krueger and Pastor Caleb Schaewe co-officiating. Burial will take place in Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton Tuesday from 4-8 PM and at church Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Those desiring may make contributions to Shepherd of the Lakes Lutheran Church.
Marian was born December 18, 1925 in Flint, the daughter of Alvin and Dorothea (Wiebeck) Westenfeld. She was a 1944 graduate of Dye High School in Flint. She married William Forest Charles December 1, 1945 and he preceded her in death February 5, 2017. Marian retired from Carman High School as the Attendance Secretary. She was a member of Shepherd of the Lakes Lutheran Church.
Surviving are: her children, Joan (Richard) Zeeb of Fenton, Laura (John) Partlo of Swartz Creek, James (Diane) Charles of Florida and Lisa Bradow of West Bloomfield; son-in-law, Earl Hagstrom of Linden; 20 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren; brother, Gene (Donna) Westenfeld of Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, William Charles; daughter, Jean Hagstrom; great granddaughter, Holly; son-in-law, Timothy Bradow; brother, Harold Westenfeld; and sisters, Mildred Charles and Elaine Ancic. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
