MATA, Maria Fersina Soriano, age 63 of Flint died April 27, 2013 at McLaren - Flint Hospital. Visitation will be held 2 - 5 :30 PM Sunday, May 5 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, during which a rosary will be prayed at 4:30 PM Sunday More fondly called "Nanette", Maria Fersina was born on February 28, 1950 in the Philippines. She is the daughter of Serafin Sebastian Soriano and Lucila Garces Soriano. She graduated with the degrees of Bachelor of Arts- Bachelor of Science in Commerce majoring in Banking and Finance from St. Paul's College, Manila, Philippines and has held careers in banking and the Academe. She was a devout and deeply spiritual Catholic, a compassionate caregiver, a loyal, gracious friend and confidante who touched so many lives. Nanette was a very loving daughter, sister, wife and mother. To her last days, she devoted her life to the people she loved, the family: her mother, her siblings and her children. She will eternally be loved and will always remain in their hearts. She is survived by her sons: Sammy Oliver, Brother Angelo Paolo Mata, n FSC, and Patrick Bryan; mother, Lucila; siblings: Esfinar (Josie Enriquez), Walfrido (Cora Caidic), Clarinda ( Dr. Ernesto Duterte); several aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins. In the Philippines, interment will take place at her final resting place, the Manila Memorial Park, Paranaque City. She now joins her father in the loving arms of our Creator.
