Margie Hice

HICE, Margie Toni - age 81, of Linden, died Thursday, March 5, 2020. Cremation has taken place. Margie was born September 23, 1938, in Flint. She graduated from Grand Blanc HIgh School in 1956 and attended Baker Business School. She married John F. Hice in 1961 at Central Methodist Church in Flint. Margie was very active in the Linden United Methodist Church, Linden school system, Girl Scouts, Alpha Child Study, Genesee Valley Fiber Guild, and Fenton Art Guild. She was a volunteer care giver for Hospice for Communities and Genesys Hospice, and a past member of the American Business Women's Association, chapter MICHABWA. Margie enjoyed many avocations, among them loom weaving, painting, basket weaving, and genealogy. She was an avid reader, and traveled widely, being especially interested in foreign cultures. She hosted many foreign exchange students from several nations, and loved tending for and teaching young children. She is survived by her husband, John, daughters, Jennifer Elizabeth (Kirk) Wiley, Rebekah Hayes (Michael) Murray, both of Fenton, grandchildren, John Michael Murray, Katherine Elizabeth Wiley, Jared Fowler Wiley, and Caroline Hayes Wiley, several aunts, uncles, cousins, one niece and nephew. She was preceded in death by her mother, Agnes O. Lowell, 1984; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, James and Beverley (Hatch) Hice. Arrangements by Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E.
