Margaret Jean Hedeen

HEDEEN, Margaret Jean - age 97, of Dearborn Heights, MI, born January 14, 1934 and died peacefully on October 22, 2021.  She was preceded in death by her husband Alvin G. Hedeen; her eldest son Craig D. Hedeen, and her two brothers, Calvin Wade and Jack Wade.  She is survived by her youngest son: Charles G. Hedeen; grandson, Charles Hedeen (son of Craig Hedeen); along with three step grandchildren.  She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.  Jean was born in Ontario, Canada and immigrated to the U.S. along with her family when she was a young child.  Jean served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Navy during WWII and then after that spent the next number of years raising her family.  She then went on to work for the Detroit Public Schools for many years.  She was a vested member of the Cherry Hill Baptist Church and loved being a member in all that it entailed.  She was an accomplished artist who taught painting classes from her home for many years.  Jean loved to travel and was a member of the Questers.  She was loved by so many friends and family from all over, including Canada and Sweden.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.  Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
