Margaret E. VanderPlas

VanderPlas, Margaret Emma, age 92, of Fenton, died Saturday, October 6, 2007 at Lourdes Nursing Home, Waterford. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11AM Friday, October 12, 2007 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton. Rev. Fr. David Harvey celebrant. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-9PM Thursday at Sharp Funeral Homes, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. A vigil service will be 7:30PM Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Alzheimer's Association.  Margaret was born October 24, 1914 in Mishawaka, Indiana the daughter of Albert and Mary (Sommer) Scheibelhut. She married William VanderPlas November 25, 1937 in  Grand Rapids and he preceded her in death on August 24, 1991. Margaret resided in the Fenton area since 1969, coming from Grand Rapids. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Fenton. Surviving are her 5 children, Thomas VanderPlas (Ruth) of Howell, Mary Jo Huntington (Bill) of Grosse Pointe, Patty Brown of Clarkston, Gerry VanderPlas (Donna) of Grand Rapids, Cindy Taylor (Steve) of Gaines; 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren.  Online condolences and tributes may be posted on the Obituaries page of www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
