Margaret "Meg" Prieur

PRIEUR, Margaret "Meg" - age 59, died Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at William Beaumont Hospital where she gave the Gift of Life as an organ donor. Services will be held 11 AM Friday, January 18, 2008 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden with her sister, Ramona Huff officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Linden. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-9 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to Lewis Children College Fund. Meg was born June 24, 1948 in Dudley, MO, the daughter of Virginia Morgan. She was a 1966 graduate of Fenton High School graduating third in her class. Meg was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving three years. Meg was a pioneer in her time. After the Navy she became the first women telephone lineman in the country working for Michigan Bell. Her zest for adventure then took her to Las Vegas where she became a Black Jack dealer in 1976. Meg returned home to Michigan where she worked as a forklift operator for Pepsi Co. The excitement of the casinos drew her back to MGM Detroit when it opened and she was the Floor Supervisor. With all her excitement and adventure, Meg's number one passion was her family; she was a caring mother, grandmother and sister. Left to cherish her memory are: daughter, Stefanie and husband, Larry Lewis of Clio; two grandchildren who were her life, Ryan and Tyler Lewis; two brothers, Larry (Joan) Bess, Nelson (Mary) Bess; two sisters, Ramona (Mike) Huff, Kathy Morgan Belinsky; nieces and nephews, Larry, Jr., Julie, Angie and Ginny Bess, Nelson Bess III, Terry Douglas Nunley, Jr., Nicole, Sara and Ginny Cates, Jacob Belinsky, Jessica Thalhammer, Alexandria Nunley; special friend, Phil Camarda; many other relatives and friends. Her mother, Ginny Morgan preceded her in death on December 30, 2002. The family wishes to extend a thank you to the staff at William Beaumont Critical Care Unit, especially nurse, Cindy.
