Margaret Mecum

MECUM, Margaret V. (Funch) - Age 79, born February 1, 1936, and went to be with the Lord on February 21, 2015. Per Margaret's request, no funeral services will take place. Preceded in death are her parents, Martin and Abbie (Bragg) Funch; sister, Joan Hall, and her husband of 29 years, James M. Mecum. Surviving are her children, Barbara Mecum-Taylor and husband Larry, Mary Mecum-York and husband Eugene, James L. Mecum, Nancy Mecum (C.J.), William M. Mecum; 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; sisters, Doris Compton, Lucy (Donald) Hoffman, Linda (Raymond) Gallagher; brothers, Richard (Irene) Funch, Norman (Kathy) Funch, Tom (Chris) Funch, Patrick (Jodi) Funch; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Margaret graduated from Mt. Morris High School in 1955 and worked at Hurley Hospital. She met James in 1958, they fell in love and married April 23, 1960. She was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Margaret enjoyed family get-togethers, loved playing bingo and especially yelling BINGO. Her favorite flower was the pansy, which was also the favorite of her mother, sisters, and daughters. She enjoyed wandering around Walmart, and if you let her, she would be there all day.
