Margaret Mead

MEAD, Margaret Louise - Age 87, of Linden, died Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at Crestmont Healthcare Center. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Thursday, November 13, 2008 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden. Burial will follow in Argentine Cemetery. Visitaion will be held from 12 noon until the time of service at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to the charity of one's choice. Margaret was born April 7, 1921 in Lansing, the daughter of Clare and Nancy (Black) Crandall. She was a 1938 graduate of Linden High School and attended Detroit Business College. She was married to Hubert Wayne Mead on May 7, 1943; he preceded her in death on February 5, 2004. Mrs. Mead was a member of Argentine United Methodist Church, where she was the organist for 30 years. She enjoyed knitting, bowling, crossword puzzles and reading. Surviving are: two sons, Jon and wife Loretta Mead of Linden, Clare Mead of Linden; grandchildren, Brett and wife Gretchen, Brandon and wife Cassandra, Whitney, Craig, Rachel, Travis, Jessie; great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Maya, Connor and Harlee; dearest cousin, Mickie and Donna and their children; dearest niece and nephew, Susan McDonald Miller, Larry and Pam McDonald and their children; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also preceded in death by her parents; sons, Craig and Crandall; sister-in-law, Marquita McDonald; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ron and Betty Mead.
