LeVINE, Margaret Hirsch, (Maggie) 93, passed away on September 3, 2010 in Hallandale, FL. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at Machpelah Cemetery, 4615 Branch Rd., Flint, Michigan 48506. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Irvin Hirsch and Abraham Jack LeVine. Maggie is survived by her three daughters, Sheryl Munson of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Hedie Blech and her husband Scott of Austin, TX; and Harriet Stein of Austin, TX. "Grandma Maggie" will be greatly missed by her seven granddaughters and their spouses: Susan & Brian Katz, of Smithtown, NY, Jennifer and Tad Guenther and Joy and Jerico McCoy of Hillsboro, OR, Lisa and Justin Cable of Beitar Ilit, Israel, Wendy & Brandon Wilbanks of Austin, TX, Ali and Sidney Tal-Mason of Boca Raton, FL, and Erin Friedberg of Gainesville. FL. Margaret has left a legacy of 11 great-grandchildren including: Elsa Rose Katz, Chaim, Yitzchak, Aharon, Yehoshua, Malka, Rachel, & Yael Cable, Mason Wilbanks, and Aya & Sami Tal-Mason. Margaret Rose Davis was born January 7, 1917 in Bloomington, IL. Her older brother, Herb, and she spent their childhood in the Midwest, ultimately ending up in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Friends introduced her to first husband, Irvin, and they settled in Flint, MI, where they opened the first Irvin Hirsch Jewelers store in 1944 and raised their family. The business grew to a chain six stores. After Irvin's death in 1973, Margaret, continued managing the business for 12 years before selling it to former employees. She was honored for her contributions to the Flint community with a key to the City Presented by the Mayor. Maggie spent her retirement years in Hallandale, FL while continuing her membership at Congregation Beth Israel in Flint.
