Margaret Kushiner

KUSHINER, Margaret Buchanan (McNie) - Age 98, of Grand Rapids, formerly of Linden, passed away Friday, May 7, 2021. Private funeral service will take place Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Pastor Ben Walls will officiate with burial following in Highland Cemetery approximately at 11:30 AM. Public live streaming will be available to view 10 AM Thursday on Margaret's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. Public visitation will take place from 2 PM to 8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to the First Baptist Church of Fenton. Margaret was born on July 23, 1922 in Dumbarton, Scotland the daughter of James and Margaret (Auchterlonie) McNie. She graduated from Pershing High School, class of 1939. Margaret and Paul Kushiner were united in marriage on January 31, 1942. She was a mother of seven children and would stay home to raise her children. Margaret was a member and very active with First Baptist Church in Fenton. She enjoyed being a mother and raising her seven children. They were a close family traveling and going on vacations. In her free time she liked sewing, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and living on Pine Lake. She is survived by her 3 sons, Paul Glenn (Dawn) Kushiner, James (Patricia) Kushiner and Donald (Judy) Kushiner; 17 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; 3 daughters, Nancy Pickl, Sandy Zeidan and Janice Langdon; son, Thomas Kushiner; parents, James and Margaret McNie; brother, Jack; and 2 sisters, Eleanor and Jeannette.
