Margaret Barron

BARRON, Margaret J. - Age 83, of Flint Township, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2022.  Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, August 29, 2022 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek.  Brother Don Brown officiating.  Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.  In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the family or charity of your choice in Margaret's name.

Margaret was born June 23, 1939 in War, WV.  She had resided in Flint Township most of her life.  She was a 1957 graduate of Excelsior High School in War, WV; and attended Bluefield University.  She retired from Hurley Medical Center in nursing and also served as an employee advocate.  She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Flint.  She also was the Bargaining Chairperson with AFSCME Local 1603, member of the Joint Union Management Program J.U.M.P., and the Employee Appreciation Committee; and several other organizations

Surviving are: husband, Hampton Spahr Barron of Ann Arbor; children, Rena Jeffries of Fairmont, WV, Barbara Washington of Flint Township, Sheila Conyers of Flint Township, and Al Barron of Flint Township; 7 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; siblings, Sharon (Howard King) Woody-King of Bronx, NY, Michael (Linda) Woody of Stone Mountian, GA, and Michelle Woody of Bronx, NY; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Gloria Woody; and brothers, William Bernard, Ronald, Richard, and Charles Woody.  Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
