HORAN, Margaret Mary "Maggie" - Age 91, of Fenton, passed away Monday, May 27, 2024. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Saturday, June 1, 2024 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton (The Mass will be live streamed and can be viewed via the link on Mrs. Horan's obituary page at www.sharpfuneral Homes. com). Fr. David Harvey and Deacon Ron Kenney celebrants. Burial in St. John Catholic Cemetery, Fenton. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton Friday from 4-8 PM and Saturday at church from 10:00 AM until the time of the Mass. A vigil service will be held at the funeral home 7 PM Friday. Those desiring may make contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Maggie was born September 14, 1932 in Ohio, the daughter of Alfred and Iola (Baker) Thibault. She was a 1950 graduate of Ursuline Academy (also known as Our Lady of the Straits) Catholic High School in St. Ignace. She married Daniel R. Horan, Sr. May 22, 1954 in St. Ignace and he preceded her in death November 8, 2002. She had resided in Fenton for the pass 54 years coming from St. Ignace. Maggie retired as a Realtor for Coldwell Banker in Fenton; she had also worked for Little Joe's in Fenton and Hawaiian Gardens in Holly. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She was the head of the St. Ann's Altar Society at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church in St. Ignace. She also was a former member of Fenton Moose Lodge and the Fenton Eagles. Maggie enjoyed bowling, going to concerts and her trips to the casino. She was the biggest fan of her beloved Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Tigers. Maggie was the matriarch of the Horan family. She brought so much joy to all who knew her and always had a smile on her face. She truly loved her life.
Surviving are: her children, Daniel R. Horan of St. Ignace, Jeffry M. Horan of Fenton, Therese M. Henry of Fenton, Brian J. Horan of Alabama, Marcie L. Gormley of Fenton, Cathie M. Horan of Fenton; grandchildren, Kali (Matt) Dignan, Kurt (Danielle) Chapelle, Kory (Kelly) Chapelle, Stephan (Lupita) Horan, Bruce Horan, Ellie Ebhardt, Carson Gormley, Cramer Gormley, Garrett (Rachel) Gormley, Michaela (Colin) Keane and Hunter Horan; great grandchildren, Brishom, Wren, Gunner, Rhett, Pierce, Kora, Saylor, Maeve, Solanus, Stephen, Dean and Drew; sisters, Yvonne Jarvie of Traverse City and Jackie Dell of St. Ignace; life long friend, Joie Lennon of Santa Barbara, CA; and several nieces and nephews.
