Margaret Elizabeth HICKS

HICKS, Margaret Elizabeth - age 79, of Flushing, died Thursday, January 26, 2012 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Services will be held 11 AM Monday, January 30, 2012 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5-9 PM Saturday and 1-9 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Mrs. Hicks was born January 9, 1934 in Canada, the daughter of Charles and Margaret Ethel (White) Riley. She was an avid volunteer at Elms Elementary School in Flushing where the kids knew her as "Granny Great". Surviving are: daughter, Judy Shanks of Montrose; son, Phillip Scheitler and wife, Carolyn of Clarks Lake; four grandchildren, Matthew Shanks of Traverse City, Rachel Shanks of Flushing, Hannah and Sarah Scheitler; great-grandson, Malachi Shanks.
