POWERS, Margaret (Maggie) Helen - Age 46 of Burton, MI peacefully passed at home surrounded by her family on March 28, 2021 following a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Maggie was born November 15,1974 in Flint, Michigan. Maggie married Jack Matthew Powers on August 21,1999 at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Flint, MI.
Maggie graduated from Carman-Ainsworth High School and attended Mott Community College. She worked as a Senior Claims Adjuster for over 25 years, both with State Farm Insurance and Citizens Hanover Insurance. Maggie was a selfless person who was adored and loved by everyone who came into contact with her. She was extremely hard working and dedicated. Her positive attitude and personality was infectious. Maggie loved spending time with her family, playing games, bible study, shopping, and girl's night with her cousins and aunts.
Maggie is survived by her husband, Jack; sons, Jack Harley Powers and Joseph Wesley Powers; mother, Catherine (Michael) West of Zephyr Hills, FL; brother, George Kheno (Shannon) of Swartz Creek; father and mother-in-law, Harley and Patricia Powers of Grand Blanc; sister-in-laws, Michelle (Kenneth) Merrow of Goodrich and Sherry (Dwight) Kemp of Winchester, VA; nieces, Alissa Kheno, Hannah and Sarah Merrow, and Paige and Patricia Kemp; nephews, Grant and Garrett Kheno, Christian Merrow, Parker and Preston Kemp; special Aunt Sandra Johnson of Midland; numerous cousins and friends, including special cousins Wendy and Sherri.
Maggie was preceded in death by her father George David Kheno; grandparents Joseph and Helen Kheno, Wesley Johnson and Margaret Dougherty; several aunts and uncles.
A funeral mass to celebrate Maggie's life will be held 11:00 AM Thursday April 1, 2021 at St. John Catholic Church, 404 North Dayton Street, Davison, MI. Interment to follow at Flint Memorial Park, Mount Morris. The family will welcome visitors on Wednesday March 31, 2021, from 2:00 - 8:00 PM at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, Michigan, and 10:00 AM Thursday, until the time of service at the church.
In lieu of flowers the family requests any donations be made to establish a fund for the continued education for her children, Jack and Joseph. Tributes may be shared at sharpfuneralhomes.com
