Margaret Ellen Drake

DRAKE, Margaret Ellen - age 94 of Linden, passed away on February 13, 2025. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 22, 2025 at the Argentine Church of the Nazarene located at 16248 S. Seymour Road, Linden, Michigan with Pastor Daniel Drake officiating. Interment will follow at the Argentine Township Cemetery. The family will receive guests from 2:00 - 8:00 PM Friday, February 21, 2025 at the Sharp Funeral Homes - Fenton Chapel (1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton, Michigan) and on Saturday at the church from 1:00 PM until the time of service. 

Margaret was born on October 26, 1930 in Argentine Township, Michigan to the late Delbert Preston and Nina Harriet (Clark) Cole. She graduated from Linden High School and married Alonzo Drake on June 14, 1952 in Argentine, Michigan and they were blessed with six children-whom she raised to know and serve the Lord Jesus. 

Margaret was an avid reader, a great storyteller. She loved poetry and music. She was a pianist and singer. She worked alongside her husband pastoring four churches-in Parshallville, Fenton, Burt, and Argentine. They were the founders of Fenton Assembly of God (now Fenton Freedom Center) and Argentine Assembly of God. Between pastorates, they also helped other pastors in their endeavors, notably Perry and Durand.

Surviving are: her children, Daniel (Mary Alice) Drake of Walkerton, IN, Larry (Awilda) Drake of Lawrenceburg, TN, Patricia (Glenn) Branham of Nashville, MI, Andrew (Ruth) Drake of Tulsa, OK, and Gail (Jason) Hall of Linden; 20 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; son-in-law, John Stephens; many nieces and nephews; and many extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alonzo in 2018; daughter, Karen Stephens in 2024, and her siblings; Donald Cole, Mary Bidelman, and Robert Cole.
