BEACH, Margaret Helen Martinez -- Age 88, of Grand Blanc, died July 21, 2015. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday, July 25 at Hope United Methodist Church G-4467 Beecher Rd., Flint. Pastor Carol Blair Bouse officiating. Interment at Flint Memorial Park, Mt Morris. Visitation will be held 6-8 PM Thursday, and 1-4 PM and 6-8 PM Friday at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint. Visitation will also be 10 AM until time of service at the church on Saturday. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society, Diabetes Foundation or the Hope United Methodist Church. She was born October 12, 1926 in Chama, New Mexico the daughter of Jose Benito Martinez and Florence (Rudd) Martinez. Peg grew up in Monte Vista, Colorado. She graduated from Rio Grande County High School and attended Pharmacy School at Capitol College in Denver, Co. She married Houghton C. Beach in Boise, Idaho on December 11, 1945, he preceded her in death on November 9, 1998 after 53 years of marriage. Peg taught Sunday School and Bible School for 17 years at Grace Church and held many women's society offices. She was a Scout Leader for 9 years, 6 years with Girl Scouts, and 3 years with Boy Scouts. She is survived by 2 children, Teri (James) Price of Linden, Benjamin Beach of Flint; 2 grandchildren, Brian (Kari) Watkins of Grand Blanc, Jennifer Watkins-Pemberton (John Pemberton) of Swartz Creek; 4 great grandchildren, Ethan, Jaxson, Ashlyn, Emmalyn; sister, Stella Torrey; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Michelle, and special nephews, Mike and Carl; and many relatives out West.
