Maretta Dian HAMPTON-MARKIN

HAMPTON - MARKIN, Maretta Dian - Age 59 of Swartz Creek, died Monday, January 27, 2014 after a brave fight with numerous strokes at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital of Howell. Services will be held Friday January 31st at 4pm at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd, Fenton, MI 48430. Pastor James Wiegand and Pastor Larry Survance officiating. Interment will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Friday January 31st 12pm until time of service. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the family. Maretta was born October 14, 1954. She married Ted Hampton June 29, 2002. She taught for 27 years. She was an active member at the Eagles Nest of Mt. Morris where she played piano. She also enjoyed being a member of the Fenton Community orchestra. She enjoyed working with children, and had a great love for music. Surviving are: her two children: Josh (Jessica) Markin, and Acacia (Greg) Savoie. Three grandchildren: James Markin, Jayna Markin and Thaddeus Savoie. Sister: Carol (Neal) Neurohr. Special friends: Amy and Audrey Casteel, Heather Long, Kartsounes family, Horgan family, and Ford family. Maretta is preceded in death by: husband Teddie Hampton, and parents JT (Maxie) Markin.
