Mareta C. Arnold

ARNOLD, Mareta Caroline - Age 82 of Swartz Creek, died May 11, 2008. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at St. Mary's Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 7563 Mary Street, Swartz Creek. Interment will follow at Bendel Cemetery, Clayton Township.  Visitation will be held 3-8PM Tuesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek and 10AM Wednesday at the church until the time of Mass.  Vigil service will be held Tuesday at 7PM at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to Chesaning Extended Care Facility or The Alzheimer's Association.  Mareta was born January 14, 1926 the daughter of Henry and Agnes Wieferich in Isabella County. She married Galord June 4, 1949 in St. Louis, MI.  Mareta was a member of St. Mary's Queen of Angels Catholic Church, loving wife, mother of 8 children and worked as a sales clerk for Krupps Novelty for 14 years. Surviving are her husband, Galord; children, Gladys Shepard of OK, Crystal (Jack) Penrod of Corunna, Glen (Toni) Arnold of IN, Ross (Barb) Arnold of Lennon, Alan (Mary) Arnold of Flushing, Gale (Gail) Arnold of MT, Laura (Bob) Warrell of OK and Lisa (Tom) Thurm of OK; 23 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren, siblings; Vernon (JoAnn) Wieferich, LaDonna Ortiz, LaVerne (Mary) Wieferich, Elnora Vibber Hacker, Joyce Vibber, Armilla (DuWain) Simon, Hank (Sue) Wieferich, Rosella (Lyle) White, Althea (Keith) Crosslan, Caroline (Tim) Meyer, and Diane (Bob) Courter.  She was preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law's, Gilbert Ortiz, Max Vibber, Don Vibber, Carl Hacker and son-in-law, Richard Shepard.  Friends may share on-line condolences and tributes may be posted on the Obituaries page of www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
