Marcia Alice (Ash) Pavkovich

PAVKOVICH, Marcia Alice (Ash) - age 90 of Swartz Creek formerly of Flint Township, died August 9, 2023. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive guests from 1 PM - 7 PM Sunday, August 13, 2023, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, MI 48473. Private interment to follow. Marcia was the tenth child born to Marie and Edward Ash in Beaverton, MI on March 6, 1933. The family moved to the Flint area where Marcia attended Kearsley Schools. She graduated from Kearsley High School in 1951 and was the first homecoming queen. Marcia worked at Cook's Drug Store while attending Flint Junior College where she met her husband, John. They married in 1952. After marrying, Marcia and John settled in Flint Township and raised their three children Michael, Marcia Ann, and Ellen. Marcia began a thirty-year career working for Carmen-Ainsworth Schools in the late seventies. She would often fondly remember stories from her days as "Mrs. Pako the media center secretary." Marcia was a wonderful mother, fun aunt, and friend. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, cooking, Starbucks coffee, traveling and casinos. The Michigan Lottery will sorely miss her. Mom was truly one of The Greatest Generation. Surviving are: three children, Michael, Marcia Ann and Ellen; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Flora and many nieces and nephews. Marcia was preceded in death by husband, John; parents, Marie and Edward; siblings, Ronald, Lucille, Floyd, Kathryn, Earnest, Richard, Bernard, Ralph, Claude, Doris, Norma, and Larry. The family would like to thank Swank Assisted Living staff for their exceptional care and compassion.
