Manley Pierce

PIERCE, Manley C. - age 92, of Fenton, went to be with the Lord on May 28, 2022. Funeral Services will be held 12:00 PM Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton, MI 48430. Mr. David Beamer will officiate. Visitation will be held 9:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make a contribution to the Christian organization of their choice.

Born in Perry, Ohio, Manley played high school football and was the class president. While attending Lincoln Christian University in Lincoln, Illinois he met the love of his life, Anna Faith. He served the Lord faithfully as preacher and pastor in several churches in Illinois, Ohio and Pennsylvania. He was Senior Minister at Calvary Christian Church in Swartz Creek, MI for 19 years and Pastoral Care Minister at First Christian in Canton, Ohio for 20 years. Manley and Anna Faith retired when he was turned 80 and moved to Fenton to be closer to family. She preceded him in death in 2013.

Manley was known for his warmth and compassion as well as his great sense of humor. He loved to hear a joke. He loved to tell a joke. Manley even enjoyed being the brunt of a joke. He never took himself too seriously because his passion was for Jesus Christ and serving Him. Manley studied his Bible daily until the day of his death. The Word truly was his life.

He used Facebook to post scriptures, jokes and pithy sayings every day. Facebook allowed him to connect with friends even though his hearing was very poor. He was mentally sharp to the end, played computer games, and was an avid reader.

Manley and Anna Faith raised a large family of six children, fifteen grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren. They always had a house full of kids and dogs. They loved to host people and go to restaurants. They so appreciated their many friends especially those from their 20 years in Canton.

His family rejoices in his long and blessed life and we know he is in the presence of his Saviour.
